PKR as a novel p53-target gene
When the host chromosomes are damaged by genotoxic chemo drugs, PKR plays a key role in p53-mediated tumor suppression. (Yoon et al., PNAS 2009).
When activated by genotoxic chemo drugs, PKR induces cell cycle G2/M arrest by Cdc2 degradation, resulting in tumor suppression (Yoon et al., EMBO report 2010).
